Common questions with answers direct from the Inventor of Picture Pages™, Paul Sadowski:
Q1. How do I stick my photos, pictures or layouts to the pages?
We include 5 yards of acid free, two-sided tape with every kit and it is also sold separately. We research a lot of different products out there, to find the best one to use with the Picture Pages product, until we found one that we were happy to be using ourselves.
Q2. Can you use other adhesives?
We have tried some of the others and although they work fine for traditional cropping (scrapbooking) they don't work as well here, partially due to the materials used to produce Picture Pages, but mainly due to the fact that Picture Pages doesn't lie flat on a horizontal surface (it is vertically mounted on a wall or easel) and so it never has the assistance of gravity just pushing the photos and layouts back into place. We have found it quite nice to use the acid free tape to attach a 12" X 12" scrapbook protector window to Picture Pages and do traditional scrapbooking and then sliding your layout into that window.
Q3. How do you attach Picture Pages to a wall?
We include a complete hardware kit with instructions (even a full size template that you just put in place on the wall to show you where to put the screws) so you can attach it with the 8 screws with anchors (you don't need to find studs or anything complicated). For those of you that don't want to bother with the standard installation; we have found an EZ Mount kit that is now available for purchase on photo-displays.com. The EZ Mount kit allows you to remove Picture Pages from the wall to pass around and then easily put it back up.
Q4. How many pages come with Picture Pages?
The Picture Pages kit includes 4 turnable pages, when you have installed them along with the display panels that mount to the wall it gives you 10 15" X 15" surfaces to work with (each page has two sides [front and back] and the two back panels each have a single surface available).
Q5. Can you display more than the standard 4 pages at once?
It is not recommended, even though it seems like the PicturePages display album will hold more than 4 pages at once. The pages have to fit one on top of the other in the slide track to lay flat against the wall. You can always put another Picture Pages album above, below, next to, or even in another room to expand your viewing. You can also purchase packs of Additional Mounting Pages (4 pages per pack) so that you can vary your displays according to the season or the special event. The pages are easy to take in and out of Picture Pages when it is on your wall. This way you can keep your favorite pages without having to dismantle them just because you want to show something else for a special occasion.
Q6. Do the Picture Pages albums come in other sizes?
Not at this time. We are considering it for the future - if customer feedback indicates a consistent demand for this. We made the original in the 15" X 15" size so that people who don't want to get a frame initially would actually have a natural frame around a 12" X 12" layout or display.
Q7. Does it come in other colors?
Color changes are fairly easy to implement since the Picture Pages album pages are made of a heavy duty plastic. We can make it in other colors. If you have color preferences please send them to us through our comments section. We did black initially, because it was the most traditional and we are thinking of adding some muted color options such as a putty or a tan very soon. These colors will be found as options when selecting the Additional Mounting Pages product.
Q8. What keeps the pages from turning on their own?
We molded special magnets into the corners of each page. This serves two purposes: the first being that it will hold all 4 pages back against the wall even when they are all together on one side of the Picture Pages album; the second is that the way we molded it into the plastic, it created a small gap between pages so you don't have one page rubbing against the other and risking damage to your display elements. If you scrapbook, it leaves you room for different embellishments.
Q9. Do you have to have all 4 pages in the book for it to work?
No, we made Picture Pages so that each page works independently of the other, so as you are working on your masterpiece you can install the display panels and then later you can install the pages, one at a time, as you complete them.
Q10. How breakable are the pages?
Although we don't think that there are any products that are totally indestructible, we tried to make this as close as we could. The pages are made of heavy duty ABS plastic and the display panels and slide hinges are polypropylene plastic. What that means in English is: we used the strongest materials possible with the nicest finish for you to get the most enjoyment out of your Picture Pages album. We also molded the magnets and screws into the plastic rather than trying to glue them or to attach them in some other way to the pages - so they can't fall off or get lost. At one point I tried hanging my 250 lb body from a page mounted vertically and the Picture Pages held me. By the way, we don't recommend that type of abuse, but I wanted to make sure that we are selling a quality product.
